*Addicted To Noise: TRICKY'S WISDOM OF THE HEART*  (March)
This is a long feature about Tricky's work so far. It's not online anymore, so I used a link through the Way Back Machine. Interesting details at the end about a remix Tricky did for Beck: >Tricky devised what he called a "test of character" for Beck, to see where his artistic head was truly at. He conjured up a hellacious mix that was, in his words, "wicked, but you couldn't even dance to it, it was so fucked up." Beck, of course, rejected it.<

*BBC News: TRICKY AND MASSIVE ATTACK MAKE UP* (December 8)
Short article about a statement from Daddy G that the rift between Massive Attack and Tricky is over and they may work together again.

*The Guardian: I THOUGHT I WAS AN UNDERGROUND ARTIST...* (April 18)
Interview about the Maxinquaye reunion tour, also Martina has a few lines.

*The Independent: AN ENGLISH MAN IN PARIS* (April 28)
Interesting interview about what it's like to be famous, his appearance at Glastonbury with Beyonce, drinking too much on tour, the re-release of Maxinquaye and performing it live: "Going back to Maxinquaye has given me a new energy and I feel like doing these shows and working with Martina is closing the chapter and then I’m moving into a new chapter. It’s good." He mentions that he has a double album ready, but False Idols (released in 2013) was only a single one, unfortunately. The track "Armies" is mentioned too as a first single, but it only appeared on Spotify as a bonus track to False Idols, not released anywhere, as far I know...

*Antiquiet: TRICKY RECORDING WITH MASSIVE ATTACK* (June 15)
Short note about a Facebook post by 3D with a picture of him and Tricky recording songs together in Paris.

Short summary of an interview, where Tricky talks about his new label False Idols and declares that he has made a short movie! It's called "Sophie Sees" and is in french with english subtitles. He explains that "it’s about a girl who thinks she’s a video director. But she’s not. And she does the videos in her head, but she has a violent side to her. It’s kind of weird. I’m away for two weeks and then I’ve got 3 or 4 days of editing and then it’s finished. It’s 15-20 minutes long." The website says that the full interview will be posted later, but I couldn't find it.

*NME: Tricky ON 2011's SURPRISE GLASTONBURY APPEARANCE* (April 26)

Short interview with Tricky about his new album False Idols and people having sex to his music (for him "surreal").

*Face Culture: TRICKY VIDEO INTERVIEW* (May 27)  - VIDEO
Very interesting and long video interview about the new album, creative freedom, corporate companies, legends like Bob Marley. *Faster Louder: FEATURE* (June 12)
Interesting interview about the Maxinquaye tour in 2012 (done to get money because someone sued him), about 3D and Massive Attack. Tricky also says he wants to make a cover album with Kim Deal and Breeders songs.

*DE Bug: TRICKY GEGEN DEN REST DER WELT* (June 28) - IN GERMAN
Interesting interview about his relation to his daughter and how he raised her, his Jamaican roots and that he wants to record a reggae album one day, who is a false idol for him (Obama for example) and who is a true idol (Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X).

*Electronic Beats: AND THEN THERE WAS AN UNCOMFORTABLE SILENCE* (July 29)
Strange but interesting interview, where the interviewer almost talks more than Tricky. They talk about artists like Billie Holliday and Chet Baker, at the end Tricky reveals the name of his next album that will probably be released in January 2014 ("Hixx") and that he wants to do a rap album with DJ Milo.

*Headphone Commute: TRICKY INTERVIEW* (October 22)
Interesting interview, because it talks about music and not so much personal stuff. Tricky talks about the importance of music to him, why he's not an actor, how he started to make music with Milo and why he keeps mistakes in his music.

*Ladygunn: TRICKY* (November 28)
Short, but interesting interview. Tricky mentions that he is finishing the production for Francesca Belmonte's solo album and that he is inspired to record new music, he wants to release an album at the end of next year with more of his own vocals.

*Freshmilk TV: TRICKY INTERVIEW* (February 4)
Video interview that was filmed in December 2013 in Berlin. Tricky talks about how he almost did a movie with Keanu Reeves, about prisons, how he cares more about evolving as a person than about his music and more.

*Frankfurter Rundschau: TRICKY - SOZIAL EINGEBETTET*  (August 1) - IN GERMAN

A short German interview, mainly about the things already in the press release: he likes how Bella Gotti raps because it's so intense and aggressive, most of is collaborators he meets by chance, like Blue Daisy, who produced "My Palestine Girl" (a political lovesong), he stopped smoking weed 3 months ago (with little exceptions), also because his daughter is living with him now.

*Opening Ceremony: SOUND CHECK - TRICKY* (August 20)
Short interview with fashion photos, Tricky talks about the music industry and which musicians he likes at the moment (Ratking, Chief Keef).

*Bullettmedia: TRICKY IS BACK...* (August 25)
Tricky talks about fame and money in this interview, how he has changed compared to ten years ago and that he wants to see a better world.

*BBM: TRICKY INTERVIEW* (August 27)
Short interview or at least very short answers, quite unusual Most intersting part: Lonnie Listen was already recorded three years ago, he was just waiting for someone to add a vocal.

*Die Presse: OBAMA IST EIN FALSCHES IDOL* (August 30)  - IN GERMAN
Short interview about Hip Hop, political music, why at some concerts he's not in the mood to play and more.

*The Skinny: WHEN ADRIAN MELTS* (September 4)
Interview about the name of the new album, Tricky also explains that Nicotine Love was a reaction to a You Tube comment and talks about other songs on Adrian Thaws.

*Kurier.at: TRICKY HAT NICHTS MEHR ZU VERLIEREN* (September 5)   - IN GERMAN
Interesting, but short interview, Tricky talks about David Cameron, that the new album is a "ghetto album", that he wasted a lot of money before but is now living with very few things, that he has more discipline now and that makes his music stronger and that he doesn't believe in religion but in love.

*NME: TRICKY INTERVIEW part 1* *part 2* (September 9)   - VIDEO
This is a short video interview with Tricky. In part 1 he explains why he used the name 'Adrian Thaws' for the album and talks about superstar DJs about music he wants to hear in a club.
In part 2 he explains that Nicotine Love made it to the album the last minute, being inspired by a fan's comment on Facebook (someone was surprised that he chose a house tune for "Tricky's Choice"). He also talks about Mykki Blanco and why he was impressed by him in Berlin.
You can also watch the videos on You Tube: part 1, part 2.

*Musikmarkt: KANYE WEST IST EIN IDIOT* (September 10)  - IN GERMAN
In this interview Tricky talks about the background of 'Palestine Girl' (not an autobiographical story, but he did go out with a palestine girl in Paris), he also says that he doesn't like the celebrity hype in our times and that music should be political again, and that guest musicians always come to his house to record in his home studio. Interesting parts about new releases: Francesca's solo album will be released in January and he plans to record new material in October, an album will follow end of next year. He also mentions that Island is planning something for the 20-year-anniversary of Maxinquaye next year, but he has nothing to do with it and can't stop them, because he doesn't own the rights of these songs (!?).

*Rockol: LA VENDETTA DI TRICKY* (September 12)  - IN ITALIAN
Very interesting Italian interview, most interesting facts: Tricky used a speech by Malcolm X in the middle of Nicotine Love, his older daughter is 25 and named Stacey, he chose the cover of "Silly Games" because of her (I didn't understand that part properly, Google translator isn't very helpful either, the song was played in a club that he went to with her mother or reminds him of that club...), in January 2015 Francesca's solo album will be released, he wants to release his next album in October then, also during the next two years he maybe wants to release recordings he did in New Orleans with a big band and Trombone Shorty (it was mentioned in the New York Archive here) and a cover album that he recorded two years ago that he doesn't remember which songs are on it (if I understood all this correctly). The last part is about Massive Attack who said that he will be on their next record, but he knows nothing about it.

*BLN.FM: NICHT KENNENLERNEN MIT TRICKY* (September 17)   - AUDIO
One hour radio special with Tricky, songs mixed with interview parts. You can check it out at their website or go to Soundcloud directly.

*France Culture: NOIR BRILLIANT* (September 20)   - AUDIO
Radio interview with Tricky, unfortunately dubbed in French.

*Fact Magazine: I AM ADRIAN THAWS* (September 29)  - VIDEO
This is not really in interview, but a "mini documentary", well very mini in fact, since it's only 10 minutes and that's even with some live clips in between... Nothing really new there, you can read everything in older interviews.

*Faze Mag: TRICKY KID WIRD ERWACHSEN* (October 21)  - IN GERMAN
German article with interview parts. Not so much new stuff except that Tricky just finished mixing Francesca's album and it will have 14 tracks, he also wants to release a cover album this year with tracks by The Cure and Billie Holiday amongst others.

*Swide: TALKING ADRIAN THAWS WITH TRICKY* (November 4)
Short interview, Tricky talks about changes, the sample in Gangster Chronicles and more.

*Freshmilk TV: TRICKY INTERVIEW* (April 10) - VIDEO
Very short video interview, their website is here, the video on You Tube is here. Although it was published in April I'm pretty sure that it's older. Last year they also had an interview like that, and it was filmed in December 2013, published in February 2014 (see above). Tricky talks about his freedom with his label, how recording music is fun and like meditation and what he would change in the music industry.

*Red Bull: 20 YEARS OF MAKING MUSIC IS A TRICKY BUSINESS* (May 20)
Short interview, most interesting information: Tricky recorded songs with two Russian rappers (Human Skills Of Slow Saga) and is currently recording an album with his old friend DJ Milo! He also talks about Blowback being a gangster album and how he feels approaching 50.

*Sound & Recording: INTERVIEW* (July 30) - IN GERMAN
Interesting details about the recording of 'Adrian Thaws'. Although it is published in July 2015, it was probably done in September 2014. Because it is in German, I will summarize the main points:
- he enjoys the freedom of a small label compared to a major label, because he can do the music he likes without pressure
- he is trying to be authentic, that's why he turned down working with U2, because Tricky and U2 don't fit together
- Adrian Thaws was done in his home studio
-tools he uses for recording are: Moog Sub Phatty, Logic Pro, some plug-ins and a simple keyboard
- first he makes very simple demos that catch the vibe of the track, then he puts samples and sounds on his keyboard and plays around with these
- Francois Kerjan produced 'Adrian Thaws', they worked together like this: Francois lived in Tricky's house in London at that time, in the morning he went for a run and Tricky prepared the demos for him, then Francois worked on the demos while Tricky went shopping and cooked something, also friends came by, so all in all it was a very relaxed athmosphere
- Francois' job was to make the sound better, especially of the vocals, and reduce the demos even more, because Tricky likes reduction
- then Tricky talks about Mykki Blanco, I think, but the article printed Bella Gotti, it's a bit confusing
- the mastering was done by John Davis at Metropolis, he talked a lot with Tricky about the lyrics and was trying to really get to know the music before mastering it

*La Defense Jazz Festival: INTERVIEW* (August 31) - VIDEO
Short interview, most interesting information: he recorded a new album called 'Skilled Mechanics', the title is how a CIA guy describes contract killers. The album is rap and Tricky is doing a lot of vocals, so he wants to change his live shows, it will be only him, his drummer and DJ Milo. But probably also a female singer.

*Ubikwist: TRICKY INTERVIEW* (October)
This is a new magazine and Tricky is on the cover of Issue 1. Go here to see a preview or here to buy the digital issue, a print issue will be out in November. There's an interview with Tricky on pages 17-21 and fashion photos with Tricky and a model named Barbara Fiahlo on pages 74-85. In the interview Tricky talks mostly about his childhood and background and how he wants to speak up now and change things. He wanted to go into politics in England, but it was impossible because he has a criminal record.

*The Quietus: 20 YEARS ON: TRICKY'S MAXINQUAYE* (October)
Interesting article from Tricky expert David Bennun (he interviewed him in 1995 and 1997) about the experience of listening again to Maxinquaye 20 years after its release. He quotes Tricky: "But if people didn't go out and copy it, I might have done another three or four Maxinquayes. Which is terrible."

*Liberation: MAINTENANT, IL EST TEMPS DE RACONTER...* (January 18) - IN FRENCH
French interview about the new album Skilled Mechanics, why it took so long to work with Milo again, living in Berlin and more. In this interview he mentions that he put out some underground Hip Hop vinyl with Milo in New York (300 copies) that no ones know about! What could that be? Maybe "God's Bass" (see discography here)? Or maybe something else that we don't know about? They had a project with other American and British rappers called Drunkenstein, but I never saw any release of it...

*Deutschlandradio: DANKBAR AUCH FÜR DAS DUNKLE IM LEBEN* (January 19) - IN GERMAN
This radio interview has a transcript, but you can also listen to it (when you click on "Beitrag hören" or the play symbol in the first pic, unfortunately it is dubbed in German). It's not sooo interesting, but during the interview you can hear the track "Bother" with Luke Harris (starting at about 7.35 min left), which was unreleased at that time.

*Flux FM: TRICKY INTERVIEW* (January 19) - AUDIO
This is a radio interview with Tricky on FluxFM that he did after the one on Deutschlandradio - he even mentions it in the interview. You can listen to it on Soundcloud, it's all in English and not dubbed! Most interesting news:
- Skilled Mechanics are Tricky and Luke Harris with different guests
- they want to release a second album next year
- the track with Oh Land is 6 years old and was recorded for her album, but because she was dropped from her record label he could use the song
- he wants to finish his project with Russian rappers this year (or next year)

*030 Magazin Berlin: DIE BEATLES SIND MIR EGAL* (January 21) - IN GERMAN
Interesting interview about Berlin, the next single "Boy", that he's not sad about what happened in this life, but happy that it gives him something to write about. He would call "Skilled Mechanics" an urban-soul-album, especially the songs with Milo. He also says that music makes the artist and not the other way around.

*Bayern 2 podcast: TRICKY PORTRAIT* (January 21) - AUDIO, IN GERMAN
This is a short radio podcast, a mix between a review (calling "Skilled Mechanics" a solid album) and an interview.

*Resident Advisor: TRICKY INTERVIEW* (January 21) - AUDIO
This is a long and in depth radio interview about a lot of topics, mostly his childhood, Knowle West, racism, Chris Blackwell, how he's hard on himself musically, about performing and drinking and much much more. You can download it on their site or listen to it on Soundcloud.

*i-D: IT'S TRICKY...* (January 27) - IN GERMAN
Since this interview is in German, I'll try to paraphrase the most important things:
- Tricky likes to work with unknown artists, it makes him happy to see his drummer so exited about this release
- he releases a song like 'Boy' now, because it's just about him and couldn't be sung by anyone else (and when he releases as Tricky his vocals are not so present)
- he recorded the album in summer, Luke and Milo being in his appartment in Berlin, cooking, recording, it was fun
- he is very relaxed and happy in Berlin, and that makes it possible to create music, in London he only went out and didn't record much
- his songs are mostly short, because he doesn't want to "stretch" them unnaturally, a song tells you when it's finished, he doesn't make singles, but an album
-
at the end he talks about "Take it there" with Massive Attack: he never thought he would work with them ever again, but now he talked to 3D on the phone and it feels like they are friends again, maybe they will even record more this year!!!

*Notion Magazine: TRICKY INTERVIEW* (February 18)
Interview about Skilled Mechanics, most interesting parts: he explains how Beijing To Berlin came to be and why he chose 'Unreal' as the last track on the album, also why he can tell different stories on Skilled Mechanics than on Tricky albums.

*XLR8R: MOVING FORWARD: TRICKY* (February 25)
Interesting interview, because Tricky talks business and about his plans for the futures: if he will do a Tricky album again it has to be a bigger success. But he will probably release another Skilled Mechanics album or other collaborations. He also talks about Massive Attack and their collaboration "Take It There" and that they (maybe) will work together again.

*Berliner Zeitung: SÄNGER TRICKY: DIESE METROPOLE...* (February 26) - IN GERMAN
Short interview, mostly about living in Berlin...

*Berliner MorgenpostTRICKY: ICH HABE BERLIN GEHASST* (March 1) - IN GERMAN
Short interview, again mostly about his life in Berlin.

*Mix Online: S.MECHANICS BLEND ORGANIC INSTRUMENTS WITH STUDIO WIZARDRY* (March 3)
This is a short interview with Francois Kerjan, Tricky's engineer for the past 7 years. He explains a lot of technical stuff, I don't understand half of it. But if you're into that, have fun.

*ThumpTRICKY REMEMBERS 1996, THE YEAR HE WAS NEARLY GOD* (June 13) [new]
Interesting interview, because they look back to the year 1996 and the recording of Nearly God, PMT and the Grassroots EP.

*London in Stereo: TRICKY INTERVIEW*  (September 7)   [new]

*New Statesman: PEOPLE WANT THE SHINY STUFF...*  (September 21)  [new]
Interesting interview that goes way back to the beginning of his career, shifting back and forth from the time of Maxinquaye to today (the whole title is >"People want the shiny stuff. We're a bit too real": the rise, fall and return of Tricky<). It also quotes other people like Martina, Mark Saunders, Julian Palmer, Cally Calloman.

*TRT World: TRICKY*  (September 21) - VIDEO  [new]
Short feature with interview parts about the new album.

*Soultrain Online: TRICKY - LASS DEN GROOVE RAUS*  (September 22) - IN GERMAN  [new]
Interview in German, most interesting part: Tricky already has 6 or 7 tracks for a new album, which will be (surprise, suprise) even better than this one...

*live on BBC 6 Radio with Lauren Laverne*  (September 22) - AUDIO & VIDEO  [new]
Tricky was in the studio for an interview and a live performance of "When We Die" with Martina and "The Only Way"!!! The above link is the whole show in audio (the Tricky part starts at 2 hours, 9 mins). You can also listen to a shorter part here (Tricky starts at 19 mins, but it doesn't have "The Only Way") or the part where he talks about his Granddad here. Or you can even watch the live performance of "When We Die" as a video here.
