This is a promo CD for Tricky's best-of album "A Ruff Guide", this time with all the tracks and not just a selection (see above). It has no jewel case, just a transparent bag with a paper insert with a tracklist on the back. The CD itself is a CDR (see pictures here). The tracks are almost the same as the official release, except for the first track (which is in fact the edit version of Aftermath, while on the official CD it is the 'Version 1') and the order of the second and third track. Some tracks are in fact edit versions, although it is not mentioned on the cover, see additions in []. As on the US CD-R (see below) tracks 2 and 3 are misprinted on the inlay, because in fact they are reversed. |

This is a DVD with an electronic presskit (EPK) for the Knowle West Boy album. It has an interview with Tricky mixed with images of Knowle West in Bristol, where he grew up. He talks about his family and how he grew up, for example explaining that his Grandma sang prison songs and he heard a lot of prison stories and that could be the reason why his music is 'dark'. I've put together some screenshots of the DVD here. You can watch the video here. |

Brownpunk sampler CDR / no cat. nr. / 2010 |
|
||||||||||||||
_
This is a picture CDR with no sleeve or cover. All the artists are on Tricky's label Brownpunk, which turned into False Idols in 2013. Franky Riley is in fact Francesca Belmonte, the female singer on Mixed Race and False Idols. She used the name Franky Riley at that time, as a "phonetic tribute" to some of her favorite singers like Patti Smith or Debby Harry, as she said in an interview. in 2015 she will release her first solo album. 'I sing for the joker' is often performed live by Tricky and Francesca, for example here. Fiona Wang later called herself FiFi Rong and wrote and performed two songs on the album "False Idols". She also released a different version of 'Forget' solo (listen to the new version on You Tube). Marlon is Tricky's younger brother Marlon Thaws, who has performed with him live a couple of times. 'Enjoy The Ride' is actually an instrumental and was also on the Spirit Music Group promo CD 3 (see above). |

Ununiform CDR Europe / False Idols K7S350 / 2017 |
|
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
_
This promo CDR comes in a card board
sleeve, check out scans of it here. There are some
confusions about two tracks on this album, because
the regular CD came out as a mispress with the
"Stripped Down Mix" of 'The Only Way' as track 8.
That obviously was a mistake, because it was also a
bonus track, so it was twice on the album. When
people got a replacement CD also track 2 was
suddenly different: it was longer and didn't have
the Russian rap part (which the mispress and the
promo had). So obviously they wanted to change that
song, but somehow forgot. So basically now there are 3 version of
this album: Check out details about the regular
releases in the solo
discography. |
