    Need One (May 2003)
  director: Richard Anthony

    _
This video was filmed live at Martina's first solo gig in London (The Wild, 30. April 2003). The bass player is Jevon Beaumont, as you can read on You Tube. The video can also be found on the 'Anything' DVD single.

    Anything (August 2003)
   director: Floria Sigismondi

    _
The whole video is in black & white and has the typical Sigismondi surreal atmosphere. You can see Martina (naked!) with dark, but shimmering paint on her face, sitting or crawling somewhere outisde. She is mostly mouthing the lyrics into the camera, looking like a wild creature or animal. You can also see animals in the video (a bird, a snake and a cat). Later a piece of silky cloth is falling down on her until she is totally covered by it and can hardly move...

    Carnies (March 2008)
director: ROJO (Josef Baar &  Francois Roland)

    _

In this video you can see Martina with blond hair driving on a Vespa through a city at night, a Chinatown-like-area (with chinese lanterns and neon signs). In some scenes she is dancing with light effects and knifes in her hands, then at the end she throws the knifes to a woman stuck on a turning wheel, who is actually herself, too. The whole atmosophere of the video is very dream-like...

    Crystalised (24.9.2013)
   director: Javier Badet
   animation: Tim Razumovsky

    _
This video has Martina and Mark Lanegan singing, first alone, then later together. In between it has animated scenes with a wolf, howling at the moon and then later chasing a flower that has evolved from the melting moon...

    Aftermath (18.1.1994)
 director: Mike Lipscombe

    _
This video is - like all of Tricky's early videos - directed by Mike Lipscombe. You can see Martina and Tricky in an empty old house, singing the lyrics. The light is moving so that the faces are sometimes in darkness and sometimes in light. Then there are some little fires, and sometimes you can see an old woman with an aquarium in her lap. Very strange atmosphere.

    Ponderosa (18.3.1994)
  director: Mike Lipscombe

    _
The Ponderosa video is almost the sequel to Aftermath, it looks very similar, maybe even shot in the same location, and Tricky and Martina wear the same clothes. You can see Tricky and Martina in an elevator, mouthing the lyrics. As in Aftermath there is strange light and sometimes fire. But there are also some religious figures and signs, like burning crosses in the background.

    Overcome (11.1.1995)
  director: Mike Lipscombe

This video was shot in the English town Cambersands, again by Mike Lipscombe. It takes place on the beach and has a bit of a science fiction touch. There are old fashioned dressed people walking at the beach, when suddenly helicoptors appear. They tear something out of the water, a metal ring with a bowl in the middle (see pic). Also Tricky and Martina are there, but just rarely to see.

    Black Steel (18.3.1995)
  director: Mike Lipscombe & Pinko

    _
Almost throughout the whole video you can see Martina singing the lyrics, while other people or animals appear in the background. Sometimes parts of the lyrics are written on the screen, too. Inbetween you can see a band playing (only a drummer and guitar player), they look kind of aggressive. Just for the "switch on, switch off" part Tricky is there, holding his hands towards the camera.

Hell is round the corner (8.7.1995)
 director: Stephane Sednaoui
  producer: Line Potmyr

    _
The whole video is dominated by the colour red, the background is red and also Tricky's shirt or dress. The camera is moving around Tricky who is singing his part. When he's finished, he shakes his head and morphs into Martina (see pic). They both look kind of puzzled and wear a strange make-up. This goes on and on until in the end Tricky moves backwards to a door and melts with the red background.

Here come the aliens (February 1996)
  director: Stephane Sednaoui

    _
This video was made more than a year before the song appeared on the Makes Me Wanna Die single and the music is a bit different. I have never seen this video, but this is a descripition that was sent to me by Ferdinand (thanks a lot):
"Black and white pictures; we see Tricky and Martina one time, Afrika Izlam the other time. Sometimes very clear pictures, they're sitting in a metro driving through the tunnels, Martina standing a bit behind Tricky. Sometimes the pictures are completely blurred.  The camera fades in and out on them. Sometimes they say some lyrics sometimes not. Sometimes we just see the picture through the window of the metro... grafitti passing, lights, slower... faster... slower again. just like the images of the artists ... sometimes speeded up, sometimes slow motion..."
Here you can read a description of this video in Italian (pdf file).

   Poems (26.3.1996)
 director: Pinko / Tricky

    _
There are different elements or little stories in the video: At the beginning there's Tricky with a boxing glove, in front of his mouth is a little camera or screen showing his mouth singing the lyrics. Then there are two kids (black and white) punching each other with boxing gloves, later Terry Hall and Tricky with the same gloves instead of the kids. In one scene Tricky, Martina and Terry are walking on a road (with parts of the lyrics on street signs or advertisements in the background), later they get into a car (with the word "bullet" on the front sign). In another scene they all hold signs saying "I'm Terry, I'm miserable" (Terry Hall),  "Martina, I'm a weary lone parent" (Martina) and "I'm Tricky, unusually sensitive and paranoid" (see pic).

   Christiansands (22.10.1996)
 director: Shawn Mortensen

    _
Tricky and Martina are in a room that could be a doctor's waiting room, Martina is reading in a magazine. Tricky wears a black suit and is walking in the room, later he's even climbing the walls. At the end of the video there are three disco divas singing in this room, all dressed in the same long dresses that are connected with each other. There were some rumours once that Tricky himself is the singing lady in the middle who hides her face a lot between her hands, but there's no real prove for that.

   Makes Me Wanna Die (13.4.1997)
 director: Floria Sigismondi

    _
This video is really brilliant, kind of surreal. You can see Martina in a bathtub, Tricky at some other place. Then suddenly there are lizards and snakes on Martina's head and body. All the scenes have a very soft and golden light and have the typical Sigismondi effect: Tricky's moves are speeded up and then slowed down, so that they look very strange and not really human. At the end Tricky's face is close to Martina's and a long lizard tongue comes out of his mouth, reaching for her face.

   Money Greedy (1998)
 director: Theodore Witcher

    _
Tricky said in interviews that Broken Homes and Money Greedy have a close connection, and also the videos for the two songs are connected somehow. In the Money Greedy video we can see Tricky and a bunch of other people, they're in an elevator most of the time (see pic). They're dressed as if they want to make a robbery or something like that, wearing black masks sometimes. Inbetween you can see streets in NY and one particular car driving, sometimes with visual effects that duplicate the car. Later you can see Tricky in a cab, he's obviously hurt, holding his hands to his stomach. Then we see Martina walking on the street, afterwards putting a kind of oxygen mask on Tricky's face. But in the end it turns out to be a bad dream, since Tricky's waking up in bed.
